Larry Doyle I am currently writing The Patzer Club for Harper's Children Books. Here's how it was described when it was sold:

Author of I LOVE YOU, BETH COOPER, Larry Doyle’s THE PATZER CLUB and its sequel, a spooky and comic adventure in which an 11-year-old girl and her mathematician mother move into a “haunted” Greenwich Village brownstone, once home to a famous 19th Century game club that included Mark Twain, Nikola Tesla and the Houdini brothers, where unfinished games and assorted specters provide clues leading to a fantastic underground world of lightning machines, giant robots and a Pretty Big Secret, to Kristen Pettit at HarperCollins on an exclusive submission, by Sarah Burnes at The Gernert Company(NA).

Yes, I know that's not a sentence.

That was two and half years ago. The book has turned out to be considerably more complicated (and I hope, better) than I originally conceived it. But I continuer to patzer away, and with luck, my editor will like it when she sees it.

There was a another book I was working on that I put aside in 2013, that has suddenly become very topical. So I'm putting out a 25,000 excerpt from it next week. It's called -- I guess ironically now -- the Next One.
Larry Doyle Write. Read.

That's my whole answer. I am only writing more because Goodreads says I have to.

But if you are going to write, you have to do those two things. No other things matter as much.

Read. Write.
Larry Doyle I am wearing dirty jeans now and will not shower until later this afternoon.

Also, there are two dogs at my feet tearing apart a sock monkey.
Larry Doyle Not well.

I stopped writing for more than a year a short while ago.

I gave up writing that book. (But am releasing part of it next week!)

I am now two and a half years years into another book that I should have finished in six months.

Here's my not very successful method:

1. Get up.
2. Try to write.
3. The following day, repeat.
