Simon Wood I already have. Both TERMINATED and DID NOT FINISH were based on personal incidents. There is a family secret that I am trying to solve but it's proving more difficult to solve than in fiction...
Simon Wood Do you mean the movie?? Hard to say but a couple of yrs away.
Simon Wood Hi Pinky!

The movie has optioned. A screenplay has been done and the producers are working on studio backing. I'm hoping to have more details soon.

Thanks for asking.
Simon Wood Hi Aimee: if you mean when will the next Zoe adventure be out, it'll be a couple of years. I'm under contract to write three standalones before I can get back to Zoe. You'll have to see solace in one of my other books in the mean time. :-)
Simon Wood I'd say Reginald Hill's detectives Dalziel and Pascoe. These guys remind me of my uncles of my childhood and while not a 'couple' per se, they're like an old married couple.
Simon Wood I have been tinkering with the idea. It would be episodic with different people chasing their shadows... :-)

Sorry for the slow reply. Goodreads doesn't send me notifications. :-(
Simon Wood Yes, it wasn't the plan but the reception has been very surprising. I do have a follow up story planned for Zoe. Thanks for asking. Glad you liked it. :-)
Simon Wood TJ, flattery will get you everywhere. I didn't take classes. I was a little too self conscious. I'm self taught. I'm am engineer by training and I took an engineer's approach to writing. I examined a number of my favorite books, broke them down for style, structure, etc. then built my books/storylines in the same fashion. I wrote a lot of short stories too which with refining skills.
Simon Wood I think you missed a couple of books since we lost touch. There's a couple short story ebooks--THE FRAME MAKER and CRESTFALLEN--and the next novel will be out on March 1st. It's called THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY and you can preorder that now! :-)
Simon Wood To be honest, I haven't read up on all the ins and outs of the system. However, this isn't the first service like this for ebooks. The other service like this did concern me because I didn't see how writers would receive a royalty for their work. At least with KU, I will receive my regular royalty. I know there's been a bit of fervor over this, but to be frank, I don't get emotional about these things. KU, like all things publishers and retailers do that impact the author, there's nothing I can do to change what they do. I'll sit back, see how this plays out and act accordingly in order to benefit me in order to remain a full time writer. I hope that answers your question. :-)
