Ron Metheny In writing, as in other things, I tend to be a multi-tasker. Having recently finished writing—and now shopping around to publishers—an in-depth commentary on the Book of Habakkuk, I am focusing my efforts on finishing a series of devotional entries I started several months back. A new project I’m working on is a compilation of anecdotes/illustrations which will act as a “good read” on top of being a resource for speakers or authors.
Ron Metheny I love a good, lively quote. Most people do. Very little that any of us say or write can truly be labeled “original.” We are all influenced by someone else who has said something else before us. Our thoughts are amalgamations, mutations, expansions, redactions or vast improvements upon another person’s sayings. There’s nothing new under the sun. In compiling “Echoes of Thunder: A Collection of Christian Quotes & Godly Wit” I endeavored to create an anthology that would serve as a well-rounded resource for pastors, teachers, and writers searching for the perfect quote to reinforce the message they’re striving to convey. But I also wanted to create a book of quotations that read more like a daily devotional than an encyclopedia. I wanted it to be an “easy read.” Hopefully my readers will label this one: “Mission accomplished.”
