From all the "best advice" I've read, they all say keep writing. Well, that's part of it.
A blank page is not a story, and if you don't write the story in your head, either it won't get written, or someone else will, then they'll get the credit for your story. Saying that, go write your story.
And always "err on the side of awesome" (Brandon Sanderson).

You know, this can be a hard question to answer. Some days I can't get motivated and so the inspiration wanes.
So even if I write one sentence for the day, I know my work in progress is still been worked on.
When it comes down it, we have a great story to tell, with a rich background of characters and lore spanning a few books. If I don't write this story out, I can't allow myself the time to write anything else.

It's ok to be stuck on a scene. Write a synopsis for the chapter or scene, stating what should happen and it might just come, or write around the space filler.
I have done that in the next book after Burn the Sky part2. I don't fully know what's going to happen, so I have just added a filler document

I already have a few books in my 'to be read' list. I bought the first three Expanse novels so working through those for world building and some Chris Fox novels, hoping to read some on space battle scenes for a chapter I have to write for book 1 of the next series and I'm sure there will be more scenes like that in the books to follow.

Besides the long hours in front of a screen, the pay (at least on one book), and long procrastination breaks?
The best part of being a writer is, I get to make up worlds and people and what they do. If I don’t enjoy a movie or a book, I can’t change that, but I can in our universe, our story.
The saying is, ‘don’t annoy a writer, or they might hurt you.’ That isn't always true. I had a work colleague who wanted to be written in so I could kill him off, so we wrote in a raider for the second book who is named after his gamer tag.

Burn the Sky (parts 1 and 2 are complete but part 2 is not released until next year) are only part of the overall story, so I’m working on Book 1 of the next series (as yet untitled). It’s all been plotted, but takes me time to visualise the scene before writing it. I’m hoping to have book 1 written in the next few months. After that, 2nd and 3rd book of the series.

Burn the Sky was a 2000 word prologue to a book I had started, but during a workshop for writers, I was told 'readers don't read prologues, so get rid of them.'
To tell you the truth, my writing was terrible back then, so I'm glad I had a chance to write it properly.
When I sat down to write BtS, I needed a character for the reader to live through, and so Jayne was born.
