Nancy McConnell I got the idea for Into the Lion's Mouth while traveling in Italy. I was in the Doge's Palace and thought about how many stories must have happened inside those walls. It made me so curious about the history of Venice, so when I went home I did tons of reading about Venice and the story grew out of that.
Nancy McConnell Talking with other writers is such an inspiration to me. I do my best work right after I have had meeting with my magnificent writer's group. Also I find the best way for me to avoid writer's block is to keep writing. When I stop I have the hardest time getting going again.
Nancy McConnell Hands down I would travel to Narnia, have tea with Mr. Tumnus and dinner with the beavers.
Nancy McConnell On my summer reading list this year, The Glass Castle by Jeanette Wells, The Midnight Library by Matt Haig, The Bombay Princess by Sujata Massey, Paris by the Book by Liam Callanan and Snapdragon by Kat Leyh.
