Debra Rose Start working on a different part of the story, or work on a different story all together. Sometimes I need a fresh perspective and taking a step away like that helps. When I come back, I may see that some parts need changed or erased completely, but I understand better what the problem is and how to fix it.
Debra Rose It is definitely a 'ramp up' process, and I have to let my thoughts marinate on what I'm about to sit down and write before I actually sit down. I have to find a quiet place with no distractions and room to pace while I let my thoughts work themselves out.
Debra Rose Nearly every book I've written has been based on a dream I've had. I have very vibrant and sometimes weird dreams, but they tend to provide a good base for a story.

Debra Rose I am currently reading the A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas, and then I plan to read the Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris. I started those a long time ago, but never got a chance to finish them.
Debra Rose As of July 2021, I am currently working on my Phoenix Curse series. I hope to have the next installment released later this year.
