Grace Okot I watch documentaries, read articles, read fiction, or procrastinate using social media until I figure out I should actually write something because even my phone's telling me to.
Grace Okot The second book after The Reaper's Bloodhound, The Bloodhound's Servant.
Grace Okot You can put your thoughts on paper. A small idea becomes a big world. A glimpse of a person becomes a well-thought-out character. Your problems become a little smaller. Writing is a place you can be yourself, and a place of ease is the best place ~
Grace Okot Probably the Grishaverse. Characters are so well-fleshed out and the world, a medieval fantasy world with light carnivals or fairs going on at times, yes, please. It's such a big world in such a small book. I look up to Leigh Bardugo for being able to accomplish such an amazing feat. I'd also probably be a Fabrikator. Heartrenders are awesome but having someone's life in my hands is a no-go for me.
Grace Okot My first book, The Reaper's Bloodhound, mostly came from animal cruelty, dog fighting and fox hunting articles that I read which are still happening to this day. While continuing my reading streak, I also came across a subgenre of fiction, The Omegaverse and disliked how weak and stereotypical the roles of Alpha and Omega were being portrayed. I'm aware it's a very popular genre of fiction and some people like it, I respect that. But for me, due to how frequently sexual assault was portrayed, it just wasn't for me. I wanted to make a change and made my own story out of it, by using the wolves' roles (Alpha/Beta/Omega etc.) but relating them to actual pack roles instead. The Reaper's Bloodhound revolves around the fates of lower ranks ( Beta and Omega) and the mistreatment of wolves while the Bloodhound's Servant features the Omega's revolution and the breaking of their stereotypes so I'm really excited to write it.
