Stick my earphones in and blare rock music and tell myself to get over it (haha). In all seriousness, walking is everything for me. I think and dream about everything, and that's what gets in my way. Distractions like social media are another thing. Bluetooth earphones are the most bomb invention ever because I can set my phone aside without distraction and still listen to music.

The same advice I give myself -do not give up. Some people succeed at what you're aspiring to and it's a mere hobby for them. Some people give up three pages at what you're aspiring to because they discovered what you already know -it's hard. But you're not some people. Your journey, your passion, is all your own. That individuality, that authenticity, is what you're going to bring to the table as soon as you get the chance to shoot your shot.

I've been an avid reader since I learned to read. Around ten years old I wrote my first story about a talking piano (I know) and I just never stopped writing stories since!

When I wrote IRREPRESSIBLE, I wanted something that was fun to read and yet instilled a sense of purpose into a teenager that would choose to pick up my book because it has dragons and portals and the cover looks cool. I wanted to write something that made me feel adventurous when I was young like C.S. Lewis’ Chronicles of Narnia, J.R.R Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings and yet have a spin on it where a girl who would usually read Meg Cabot might pick up this little work of Sci-Fi/Fantasy and enjoy it.
