I'm currently working on a story about a nursing home. Things are happening and the main character only finds out what it is after starting a job there.

I get inspired to write when a story or a situation pops into my head and it sounds like it would be a great one. The problem is, I have that happen a lot. Even if I am already working on a story.

My advice to aspiring authors is to not give up even when you are feeling unsure of yourself or your work. There is a story out there for everyone and if some aren't interested in your stories there are other people who will be.

The best thing about being a writer is being able to share my stories for people to read. Letting people in on my imaginations is awesome because a person doesn't have to have the ability to read minds, I can just share what I'm thinking in a story. It's fun when I'm the one who comes up with a plot and gets to share it. I'm not a big fan of criticism, but being an author makes me have to take it whether I want to or not. Lol.

I deal with writer’s block by taking time from my work or rereading what I've already done. I am my own worst critic. If I feel something isn't right, it sometimes stops me from continuing. I'm new at this and a lot of things I've forgotten, so thinking that my projects may fail, has me on edge and I can't concentrate properly.

Hi, Gem. I can sympathize. I am also my own worst critic. I can't even tell you how many times I felt my writing was nothing short of crap and thought about scrapping the whole series. Even now while writing my third book in the series, I worry the people who have read and enjoyed my book will be let down. Keep your head up and continue doing what you love. I wish you all the best in your journey.

I got my idea for my most recent book, “Trust and Truths”, from starting the book with a simple love story. The more I continued, the more I thought that I wanted to spruce it up a bit. I wanted my love story to stand out from the norm. That's when I thought to add a huge challenge that would hinder the characters when it comes to love. I thought about it over and over before deciding on how the plot of the story will be.
