Usually it’s something that I see in real life or on social media that gets my mind going. I work at a local VA hospital in Charleston, SC so I get to see veterans that are still struggling with the same issues that once plagued me.

My drug addiction was ruining my life and I kept repeating the same mistakes over and over and over, during my last arrest I decided to do something different and picked up a pen & notepad, I was brutally honest in my writing and I started seeing the patterns of addiction in my life. I wrote something like 77 pages of what was my own personal ‘Hope manual,’ it was later that I decided that if it could help a formerly hopeless guy like me find my way back then it might help others too.
