Read, watch TV, try to think of anything else but the story I'm working on. Maybe cry a little in frustration. Ha! I also bounce ideas off my writer friends and see if they have suggestions. Sometimes just talking out loud with someone about where I'm stuck and possible directions the story could go will spark ideas.

Write what you love and learn as much as you can about the craft and the business before you publish. Join writing and reader FB groups where you can ask questions and get honest answers and opinions from people who have already gone through what you're starting. If I could go back and start from the beginning, making writing friends and learning as much as I could from them first would be my top priority.

Honestly, the indie writing community. I've made so many friends and learned so much from fellow authors and readers alike. Everyone is so supporting and inclusive. It's like a wonderful little family and I'm so lucky to be a part of it!

Look, there’s a spider on the ceiling above the bed.
Wait, where did it go?

I got the idea for CheckMate from a magazine article I read about an agency who employed all female detectives. If a wife thought her husband was cheating, she'd hire one of the detectives to go undercover to find out.
Funny how one article can make so many ideas pop into your head. Luckily for me, those ideas turned into CheckMate.

Right now I'm working on a brand new 3 book RomCom series about two sets of siblings: Jessa and Jake (who are twins) and Chase and his sister, Emery (who also happens to be Jessa's best friend and roommate.) Each book can be read as a standalone, but will have interconnected characters. It’ll start rolling out in 2023, so be sure to keep an eye out!
I’ve already finished books 1 & 2 and have just started book 3. Here’s what it’s about:
First up will be The Kiss Contract. Sassy, slightly accident-prone pet photographer, Jessa has a problem and the only one who can help her is Chase. He’s her best friend’s sharp-witted, sexy-as-sin, loves-to-push-her-buttons brother. When the two of them sign a contract to “fake-date” each other, what could possibly go wrong?
In Late Night Kiss, you’ll get to meet Chase’s sister and Jessa’s roommate, Emery. The hottest morning DJ around, Em has it bad for a man she’s spoken to on the phone, but never actually met. When she finds herself stuck with tall, dark and annoying Gage for a 24 hour radio promo, will she give up her dream mystery man for him, or boot him off the roof instead? (You’ll have to read it to get that reference.)
Five Alarm Kiss follows Jessa’s firefighter twin brother, Jake. He can charm anyone out of anything … until he meets curvy “good-girl,” Laurel, who’s immune to his sexy smile and rock-hard abs. Too bad for him she’s also the one woman he can’t live without.
If you like laughing, along with melt your kindle chemistry, you’re going to love, love, love this series!
