Krys Rayne My mom had a miscarriage before I was born. She was supposed to have twin boys and they ended up being stillborn. Around that time (70s/80s) people were stealing babies, etc and they never let her hold them and they also had a closed casket. For a long time, to this day even, she still believes someone took her babies. So this could possibly be a suspense story and possibly a romance mixed in there somewhere.
Krys Rayne Writer's block sucks. When you don't have the motivation to write or when your so down, it feels like your helpless. A lot of the time I have to see a really epic film or show. Something like an Avengers film or even The Witcher or one of the Fast and the Furious movies. And then, my brain starts to work again and the writing flows.
Krys Rayne Its fun! No, it's not easy, but when you really enjoy what you're doing, it's the best thing in the world. If your an indie writer like me, you get to make all the rules (for the most part). There's no one to tell you when to write, how to write, etc. You do have to make deadlines for yourself but make sure you keep them.

Writing for me is like going to therapy. It helps get my feelings on the page, whether I'm happy, sad, angry. I can write them into the scene I'm working on.

To me, being a writer is the best thing in the world. It's my happy place.
Krys Rayne First, educate yourself on your genre. Learn about the "rules" and twist them along the way if you can. Try and connect with other authors in your genre because they are the ones who will help you along the way. And write. Even when you don't feel like it or are tired, just write and get your book or stories done. Don't worry about the final version because editing does take time, especially when you want to make it as perfect as you can.
Krys Rayne I am working on a romantic suspense called Forget Me Not. It's about an FBI profiler, Autumn Taylor, who ends up with a new case where the murderer removes his victims eyes. An attorney, Nico Scala, harasses the FBI and takes a fancy to Autumn. He devises a plan where they take down the killer together. Autumn is hesitant because she finds herself attracted to him and is reluctant to play along but she goes along in the end. There is a twist that Autumn never see's coming and so she only has Nico to lean on.
Krys Rayne Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to write. I watched Robin Hood: Prince of thieves and I was in love with Kevin Costner's character. So I ended up watching it at least a dozen times and wrote it out, almost word for word. After that, I created my own fan fiction of The Juror, a movie with Demi Moore and Alec Baldwin (who I also feel in love with at an early age). I think I got bored with that one and just threw it out. After all, I think I was around 10 years old.

When I was around 14, I read my first romance, Suddenly You by Lisa Kleypas. She was my favorite, favorite author and I gobbled up all of her books. At that time I was really interested in British History, esp the 19th century. Another favorite was Gaelen Foley. After I read Suddenly You, I was like, I want to "be" that author one day. I want to write for a living!

I started a historical romance with paranormal elements after I read Kathryn Smith's Brotherhood of Blood series. I hadn't realized there were actual books with vampires in Regency England! How cool was that?? So between 16-17 I started my very first bookie book. I had an English teacher who would help with some of the editing and she said it reminded her a little of Jayne Eyre. After I graduated from school, I continued with the story then... I lost the manuscript.

I was lost for a little bit after that then I started reading Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series and found out she had several fan fiction groups on Yahoo. I made some friends, we wrote stories together and then everyone went their own ways. I wrote fan fiction on other sites then created my own on FaceBook which was called TFInc. I really enjoyed it then got burned out so I quit.

But I got the writing bug again and decided to take a couple characters from TFInc and create a novel. Now, the characters have evolved over time and so they are now different from their original counterparts and so the rest is history.
Krys Rayne Since Crush is currently my only book, the idea sort of came to me on a whim. My "day job" is working in a grocery store. We have a younger manager and so I was like, would it be interesting if an employee who is quiet, shy and older than her work friends developed a crush on her boss? And so there we go. :) I also got the idea from the fact that there are next to none contemporary romances that take place or surround grocery store employees. A lot of people probably think, well, a grocery store romance? How interesting can that be? There's a little intrigue but it's a short story so take a chance on it. ;)
