Laura Hamby Oh boy. Music. A wild notion that sounds like a fun read. Anything and everything has the potential to spark inspiration.
Laura Hamby The best thing about being a writer is seeing the story and characters all come to life. The setting too, if the town is one of the characters.
Laura Hamby I had the idea for A Holiday Christmas first for a series of 3 books - one for Christmas, New Year's and Valentine's Day. All would star a hero or heroine whose last name is Holiday. A Holiday Christmas was sparked by the notion of plunking a woman whose family didn't celebrate Christmas into a family neighborhood where the holiday is a big deal. It took off from there. It was such fun to write. http://amzn.to/1tucLnY
Laura Hamby I do something else. Craft. Read. Catch up on my TV shows. Troll pictures on the Internet to see if I can spark an idea. Re-read what I've written to see if I "derailed" somewhere along the way. Listen to music. Peruse abandoned WIPs to see if anything jumps up for attention.
Laura Hamby Just write. There is no right way, no wrong way. Just the way that works for you.
Laura Hamby I'm in between projects right now, but I'll be starting a new WIP shortly that's connected to my October release, A Holiday Christmas (http://amzn.to/1tucLnY). It'll be called A Holiday New Year's.
