Valerie Webster On Thursday, June 8, 2006, my uncle, Jacob Wesley Webster, attended a meeting at the Veteran Administration's location in Cambridge, Maryland. He said goodby to friends from the meeting. No one ever saw him again.
My family and I worked with the Maryland State Police who handled the case.
As in most cases such as this there was a furious burst of activity. His wife swore he had run off with another woman. Police searched the house, followed the wife, grilled my uncle's buddies about knowledge of any girl friends. Nothing - and hard to believe someone would have skipped without his wallet or vehicle. It was as if my uncle had been plucked from the earth like an alien abduction.
Time ticked by. Leads became dead ends. No new information arose. The family contacted a psychic. Cadaver dogs scoured a wooded area near my uncle's home. Lots of hope but no results.
One day melted into another until we are at the sad milestone of sixteen years. Another cold case to add to the pile of the unsolved. There is little expectation but a shred of hope with Wesley's disappearance with pleas for assistance on multiple missing person sites on the internet.
This is the posting from the National Missing Person's Directory/Maryland: http://bit.ly/3kMpCUc. We are grateful for any help.
