A mystery in my own life that could be a plot for a book is noticing the random details around me. For example: What is someone was so observant that it dragged them into trouble?

The best thing about being a writer is that it allows me to express myself in a new way. In writing a story, I can vicariously live through my characters; the process is much like what happens when I read. When a book is written there is a lesson that the author is trying to teach themselves and the reader. If you've been writing long enough, take a look at your own writing and see if you can find what concept you are attempting to perceive.

As of this moment, I am currently working on a Young Adult, Fantasy, novel. I'm not going to specify any detail of the book as of this moment.

When I am dealing with writers block, I find that my brain is focusing on another project that I am currently working on. The main way I fix it is by completing the other task. Though, when I just can't make the words flow from my pen to the paper, I also start thinking about where my story is going. As I do this I scan my plan for a tiny detail that seems to be collecting dust in the corner and implant it into the story. This process not only allows my creative juices to start running again, but allows the story to continue to build.

There isn't a specific way I get inspired to write. Most of the time, ideas come to me when I least expect it. For example, I was watching a local High School football game and a clock at one of the churches, several blocks away, began to chime eight o'clock. Though there are also times that I'm just sitting on the couch thinking about an idea and I suddenly want to write.

If you are an aspiring writer I urge you to never give up on your goals. My friend, Marie, and I wrote a book in the fifth grade. I can't remember how many times it looked as if people thought we were joking about publishing the book.
While persevering towards our goal, we looked through several avenues of publishing possibilities. Now, after four years of editing, modeling the layout, and searching, we finally reached our goal.
You can do the same. Never give up and hold those dreams close to you because you can do anything you set your mind to.

I got the idea for my most recent book with my partner, Marie Martin, in the fifth grade. It was from playing a fantasy game in the backyard on a day we didn’t have school. When we put our minds together and thought about this we discovered a storyline, just waiting to jump off the page.
