Try again. I usually have this problem at the beginning of projects. I need an opening, but the first few starts don't work. Back to the drawing board. Keep it simple. Tell the story as directly as possible.

The seed was planted when I was looking at some old newspapers on microfilm at the library. I ran across the headline that I'll summarize as "Henry Rogers! Murder?" "Rogers," I thought, "I have some ancestors named Rogers. I read down the article and read the reporter's background on Henry Rogers: He had a famous sister named Millicent; his grandfather was H. H. Rogers of Standard Oil fame. "That's my family!" I realized. That moment sent me on a years-long hunt to dig up more information on the Rogers family and what I realized was the source of all their problems: too much money.
