I put it down and walk away for a bit. Read other books, watch movies and TV, explore art, enjoy good food, spend time with friends and loved ones. I don't force myself to write. My deadlines are fluid. I write in advance so nothing is forced. It's important to me that every piece of writing is authentic.

I love connecting with readers online and in person. It's a gift to form these connections over shared experiences and feelings, I never forget these interactions. Also, holding a book you wrote in your own hands...the feeling cannot be measured.

Never underestimate the value of tenacity. So many writers have failed projects and learned to put their darlings up on a tall shelf out of reach. The willingness to continue onward after a project just wasn't coming together and begin again can breathe life into the right work at the right time.
