Judy Bloomberg Once, in Ethiopia, our driver's car got nine flat tires in four days, and we were out in remote areas where the tire could only be patched, not replaced. Finally, we ended up having to hitch-hike to our next destination.
Judy Bloomberg I love the positive feedback I get from people who read my book. People seem to love my photos and my stories, and that is very reinforcing to me.
Judy Bloomberg I am not actively working on a book right now, but I have a couple of ideas "on the back burner", which I hope will come to fruition at some point.

One is a memoir of my year living in a very small village in France in 2002. I purposely chose to live in a small village (about 1 1/2 hours from Paris), rather than in Paris or another big French city, because I knew that in Paris I would be treated like a tourist for the entire year, while in my small village in Burgundy, I was really able to become a valued part of the community. My year in France was truly life-changing, and I still measure my life as "before France" and "after France".

The second thing I may write at some point is a collection of some of the most interesting/unusual stories and anecdotes about my travels all over the world, such as the time I did a home exchange and ended up living in an actual French chateau, the time I walked into a random temple in Bhutan and ended up meeting and having a 10 minute conversation (in English) with the Queen mother (ie mother of current king and wife of former king), the time I slept as a guest in the yurt of a famous eagle hunter in western Mongolia (with him and his entire family), etc.
Judy Bloomberg I was inspired to write by friends who heard my travel stories and encouraged me to take them to the next level.
Judy Bloomberg I have been an intrepid traveler for over 50 years, and have visited about 115 countries, on every continent. During that time, I have collected thousands of photos, and people have always loved to look at them, on Facebook and elsewhere. I particularly love the photos of places that most people will never visit, like Papua New Guinea, Ethiopia, Bhutan, etc, and felt like it was time to share those photos with a wider audience.
