Although the storyline is different,' The Waves of Helsinki' novel touches on my experiences in Latvia. It was back in the '90s when the mafia presence was still strong. We had issues resisting protection money payments and keeping our retail stores safe - I even had an armed bodyguard. I may return to Latvia in a future book as many more exciting experiences could be told. I think it will be a fiction novel, though, as probably nobody would believe they were true stories.
