Keep working at it. Writing, like anything, requires practice. When I was training to be a Medic, we talk about using what is in our 'toolbox'. Do that! I have books I use from, 'Master list of Emotions for Writers' to The Emotional Thesaurus' to Screenwriting for Authors'. There is so much out there!

Usually I will take a break and come back to it. I give myself 24 hours to work on something else, like my fanfiction. Or I might take a different approach. Maybe just write out the dialogue.
