Christy Hughes I was so inspired by revisiting Gladys and Doc's love story for my memoir. I am working on historical fiction loosely based on the true events of their lives. And if you don't know who Gladys and Doc are, read my memoir :)
Christy Hughes I've become very attuned to my creative cycles. Waxing moon? Juices flow. Waning moon, not so much. There are also times of the year, like fall, when I just want to hole away and write, and spring, when I'm full of ideas but not full of time. I know the advice is to write every day, but I'm okay with honoring these cycles if I feel really stuck.
Christy Hughes Truthfully, it is tough to read while you are writing your own book. I found that I had to avoid the memoir genre to ensure I didn't let impostor syndrome take over! And with less plane travel these days, I'm missing out on my hours of mystery and suspense novels, but I'm anxious to read the new Paula Hawkins. Current read: Brown Skin Girl by Mytrae Meliana.
