Actually, KITCHEN MEDICINE is about the biggest mystery I've ever faced. Why couldn't my daughter -- who was curious about food and would try anything -- seem to eat enough to grow? Why was she given diagnosis after diagnosis, put on strange diet after strange diet, but no treatment seemed to launch her out of that accusatory diagnosis of "failure to thrive?" The answer, it turned out, was as illuminating as it was infuriating.
