Amy Freeman Frost I grew up listening to my relatives tell stories about working in the cotton mills in Huntsville, Alabama; they were intriguing to say the least. The stories about the hardships and heartache mill workers and their families suffered was compelling. The depression, heat, and drought during that time period--added to their misery. I wanted to write a book about overcoming those obstacles as well personal tragedies.
