Ashika Singh I am currently working on a topic that addresses another issue that most children face- 'Self Regulation' and why routines are important for self regulation. Some children find it difficult to settle and keep asking all day, "When is Mummy coming?" This book is for them.
You will see the same characters, Lucy and her cheeky pet frog Todd, in this book again.
Ashika Singh My inspiration comes from my desire to help and support children and families.
Ashika Singh I have been an Early Childhood Educator for most of my life I see some of the issues that children and parents struggle with on a daily basis. Separation Anxiety is one of them. I see how much impact this form of anxiety can have on a child's emotional and eventually learning development if not addressed properly. I also saw how difficult day-care drop offs can be for busy parents and how it can also impact their emotional wellbeing. I wrote 'Mummy don't go!' - a children's picture book to help child understand that day cares are not a scary place, but a fun place to be where educators will look after them and take good care of them.
'Defeat Daycare Drop off Dramas with 3 new habits' on the other hand was written to support the parents and teach them ways on how they could build a bridge from home to day care with their children so that they could ultimately defeat the challenges of separation anxiety and begin to embrace the time spend in day care instead.
