Take a break and give myself some grace. If I try to force words, my voice is missing and my book suffers from it. Also, speaking with other authors and brainstorming my current work in progress almost always helps me break out of a funk.

Readers! I've met so many amazing people within the writing and reading community. Seriously, they're the best people to to spend HOURS talking and laughing about books with. They don't get annoyed or bored when I drone on and on about all my book boyfriends.

Don't give up! Keep writing, keep reading, and keep learning. Every time I write a book, I'm better than the last. I joined a writers group, critique group, and attended conferences to improve my craft. I still do all of those things. Writing itself is lonely, finding a group of like-minded authors is essential to your mental health and success. Most of all? Always believe in yourself!

I wrote a best friend's to lovers story a few years ago. I'm working on edits for that one as well as book two in the Christmas in Connecticut series.

Totally cliche, but my first story idea came to me in a dream. I had NO clue how to write and that story was awful. Not the idea of it, but the actual writing. Ever since, characters will speak to me when I'm falling asleep at night.

The writers association I belong to publishes an anthology every year. I had originally submitted My Knight Before Christmas to them as a second chance romance where the main characters met on a dating app. They selected a different short story of mine to publish, so I tweaked a few details and moved this story to the Christmas in Connecticut series.
