Allan Albig The origins of life on Earth has been covered many times before, but I think I can do it better. The book I am writing strives to communicate current thinking about the origins of life on Earth to non-scientists. The challenge is to not simplify it so much that it loses the science while still making it accessible. I work from the assumption that readers have had at least high school biology. After tackling origins of life, I am progressing on to describe how animals evolved and the major milestones of animal evolution. It's going to be fun to write and to read... I hope!
Allan Albig I teach classes in cell biology and molecular genetics to graduate students and over the year I have developed course materials that I think are super exciting. Things like how biological systems cooperate to allow electric eels to deliver hundreds of volts. It's really amazing and I just thought to myself that there must be a way to communicate the wonders of the molecular world to non-scientists to help them appreciate the invisible world. It became a passion and now I spend much of my days thinking about how to break down complex topics so non-scientists can understand them while at the same time not simplifying the science so much that it loses its WOW factor.
