Dee Shihady I know it's been done a million times and ways but I wonder if I would have made the same mistakes (married the same person, not gone to college until later, etc.) if I had to do it all over again and know what I know now.
Dee Shihady WRITE! Even if you are never published, even if no one reads it right away, even if you think no one would ever be interested in what you have to say, even if you don’t have the time, even if you have kids, even when you’re tired, sad, angry, or depressed, even if it’s only 1 paragraph a day…WRITE!
Dee Shihady Since I started writing because it wasn’t appropriate to share anger and frustration in my world as a child for me writing is about working through my emotions. Being a writer allows me to share the process with others in the same circumstance. There is something so satisfying about connecting with a reader in a way that allows them to also go from point A to point C without all the angst it took me to go through B. It feels like a kind of service in a way to say, “ I get it! What if we can laugh about that together?”
Dee Shihady I'm currently working on a few books. One is a similar book about loving adult children and doing life with my mother who is now living with us. I am officially a part of the "sandwich generation" so it just seemed the logical choice.

The other book is a secret. lol
Dee Shihady I've been working on this book for as long as I've had children! It's always been my way to turn to writing when I'm emotional so what began as a sort of mommy journal spanned about 30 plus years and turned into this book!
