Stella Mars I felt a whisper of air brush my neck. The darkness in front of me took form.

How do you get inspired to write?

Stella Mars That's a tough question. I don't do anything. It just happens. I find myself at my desk. Sometimes I am so excited to write I have to lie to family and friends not to go out so I can stay home and write cos I need to find out what this going to happen next in my book. I know, sad.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Stella Mars I did Fencing for awhile and i have always wanted to be a hacker but have zero technical skills soI just wrote about it. Basically I seem to pick up a thread of something in my life and go from there.

What are you currently working on?

Stella Mars I have two books started. Such a pain. I don't know which one to finish first. and then how do I hold back all the other ideas streaming in. I write them on scraps of paper an them lose them. I hope I work out a system soon.

What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

Stella Mars I have long wondered if my father's family was Jewish. Everyone mistakes me for Jewish and I have many Jewish friends. My grandfather came to Australia during the second world war so I wondered especially after I saw a doco about Jewish people who resettled here and did not reveal their identity. One man actually became a catholic priest and only discovered later that he was Jewish. Wow!

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Stella Mars Freedom!! I love being able to set my own agenda each day and get lost in my writing. It also means I can travel. All I need is my laptop!
