(view spoiler)[I got the idea for my upcoming release, The Christmas We Both Needed, because it was Christmastime (2022) and there was a lot of talk about Christmas novellas. I thought, "Hmm... I love writing about Christmas, but I don't really know if I could write a shorter book or find a subplot that lends itself to something novella-length." I can't remember if I prayed audibly, but I definitely figured, God, if you want me to write a Christmas novella, I know you'll give me something to write about! A few days later, working on my full-length WIP, I hit on the perfect little subplot, and The Christmas We Both Needed began to take shape.
[Possible spoiler alert] If you've read The Prodigal Sons, you know that things between Jake and Emmy are "questionable" at the end of the book. But she's found a friend, and this little camaraderie lent itself perfectly to a Grumpy-Sunshine trope, told in first person through Grumpy's eyes. I can't promise it's romantic, but there are moments where I had to wonder myself--what is REALLY going on between these two?
I'm really looking forward to publishing The Christmas We Both Needed, just in time for Christmas in July. If you want to make sure you get your copy, it's up for pre-order now at Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BV4C28CL (hide spoiler)]

Sometimes, I just need to sit down and write. Even if I have no real in spiration or havent resdearched a particular scene, if I can just sit down and hammer something out, it gets the creative juices flowing. If I like it I can go back and tweak it for detail ("fact check it!") later on. Plus it keeps me in touch with my characters and sometimes contributes to a book further down the line. If nothing else, it's cathartic. In fact, it's what I should be doing now. Happy reading!

I am so excited to be finishing up the second book in the Gott Mit Uns series, due out November 1st. A prequel to Sani, and quite different, it takes the reader back to 1923 in Munich, to meet not one but two characters in their younger years. It is a little more raw and edgy, I think, than Sani, and will appear to a wider audience. If you enjoy books with a male protagonist, this book is for you. If crave stories about loving the bad boys, this book is also for you. A little romance, a little violence, and a lot of conflict and redemption.
