Sophie Stevens In College, I had several friends who had 'friends with benefits'. They were actually hoping that by being this guy's booty call, maybe he'd be interested in a relationship eventually. In other words, they liked the guy, but he was too aloof to offer a relationship, so they signed up to be his 'friend with benefits' in hopes he'd eventually come to his senses. It NEVER worked out. They ended up up crying because he wasn't interested in a long-term commitment and then heartbroken when he eventually did find someone he was willing to settle down with. I saw this happen over and over again and for some reason, even after I graduated college, their pain stuck in my head. When I decided to write a college romance, I thought it'd be fun to flip that storyline. What if the 'friends with benefits' do become something more? What if they fall in love? And that's how I got the idea for the first book in the Wimberley University Series.
