The photo, which appears as a mugshot, isn't since I am holding a cocktail in my left hand and the placard reads "Wynwood County" --
Wynwood is this cool, artsy neighborhood of Miami, once home to countless art galleries, which also gave birth to the street mural phenomenon now all over the world. The neighborhood is no longer "cool and artsy" -- due to massive gentrification -- it's now overpriced and kind of tacky. The author pic, taken by photographer Bridges Aderhold at his old studio, Gab Gallery, is a homage or throwback to the bygone days of an area very inspirational to my writing. There are no longer art studios in Wynwood, if maybe a couple. It would be criminal to even try at this point.
