Jacob Sebastian As engineer-turned-entrepreneur I have been doing real estate development projects for many years covering different countries and currencies. Much of the calculations leading to the content of this book were made originally for use in those projects.

For those projects, I needed more in-depth information than what the professional accountants were able to provide shrouded in intimidating accounting jargon. Therefore, I had to make the calculations myself and developed the needed software tools for it.

When looking at the huge amount of data the software program had produced, some stunning facts and patterns emerged. This book is, in essence, a compilation of those stunning facts and patters which were further researched and delineated and explained. I decided to publish it because such insights were not readily available in the marketplace in any form, be it a book, software, or consultancy. With this book, I wanted to fill that knowledge-vacuum.
Jacob Sebastian 1). The Private Equity Edge, by Arthur B. Laffer.
2). The Upstarts, by Brad Stone.
Jacob Sebastian I would love to get into a space ship envisaged by late Dr. Carl Sagan in his book Cosmos, and travel with him to the outermost galaxy in the universe at the speed of light and return to earth, which would be many billions of years later!
Jacob Sebastian I love writing the book. I love the subject that I am writing about. I have researched deep and am an expert in the subject I am writing about. I love teaching others what I know. Writing a book is the most practical way for me to convey my knowledge to as many people as possible without regard for distance or geographic boundaries. The awareness that I have something unique and valuable to share with the world has been my inspiration all along.
Jacob Sebastian Writing and completing a manuscript is only half the work, the easy and enjoyable first half. Publishing and marketing the book for first time authors is like a long and tedious journey through a jungle, alone and without GPS. In order to avoid serious blunders and too much delays, educate yourself well about the whole publication and marketing process before and during the writing process. If at all possible, take a mentor, someone who has already walked the walk at least once and preferably several times. With mentor, I do not mean consultants charging you per minute, but another (self-) published author who may be willing to work closely with you and guide you. Without one, I have made a few costly mistakes.
Jacob Sebastian Volume 2 of the series Highway to Riches, which is fully devoted to Tax Drag.
Jacob Sebastian Satisfaction! Satisfaction that I am able to make a lasting or cascading contribution to the world before my time is up. Satisfaction that the considerable knowledge, insights and wisdom that I have painstakingly accumulated over decades of active life do not vanish with me in the grave. Writing and publishing the book feels like I am virtually donating my brain for grafting into numerous others enabling them to flourish.
Jacob Sebastian I just take a total break from writing or thinking about the book. The break may be be for one day or a few days. Then, when you pick up writing again, it goes much smoother again.
