What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Rachel Siemers Why not you? So often we - as writers, painters, musicians, artists of all scopes of the imagination - tend to think, "Why me? What makes me so special that someone would want to buy/read/look at/listen to something I have created?" But the more I am surrounded by amazingly, awe inspiring talent, the more I realize they are all just people, living, breathing, surviving this life just like the rest of us, and are no different than you or I. And the more that I have come to claim ownership of my talent, and appreciate my gifts as being part of my being...in whatever level or degree they are currently at...the more that I love it being part of me and realize that there are people in the world that need to connect to the things I have to offer. And so I write, in hopes that it reaches someone who needs to hear what I have been guided to say.

How do you get inspired to write?
Rachel Siemers Inspiration is like magic for me. I have no control over when it comes or goes, but when it decides to make itself known, it rushes like a river without restraint, and I just do my best to scoop up as much of it as I can as it flows through me before it is gone again.

What are you currently working on?
Rachel Siemers I am currently compiling some of my poems into a collection called "Slipped From My Lips." From heartaches and depression, to humor and highs, there is something for everyone to connect to.

I am also working on my Young-Adult Fiction series "Dominoes," which follows a girl named Faith who sets out to uncover the stories behind 7 strangers who show up at her mother's funeral. A beautiful blending of mystery, loss, adventure, and romance, it is a story that is near and dear to my heart.
