I got the idea for Gaia's Revenge while I was in treatment for a year - surgery, chemo, and radiation - for (male) breast cancer. I felt very weak and vulnerable from the treatment. So, when a series of extreme weather events, intensified by global warming, hit my St. Louis community, it felt to me that Mother Nature or Gaia had turned on us and was targeting me personally. Admittedly, this was a little paranoid, but it planted the seed of an idea in my head. What would happen to us if Gaia finally got fed up with our abuse of the Earth, and turned her anger on us humans. That is the question and premise of Gaia's Revenge - Patrick Fleming.
