I usually take a break, watch a movie, read a book and talk through the block with friends.

For me it is seeing others read something I created and loving it. Being able to say "Hey I wrote that!"

Get the story out. set small goals. Finish a complete draft. Refine the draft. Edit the draft. Research all about self publishing so you are prepared and knowledgeable. Make author friends to share knowledge with and get help and advice. DONT SCRIMP ON COVERS AND EDITORS. The cover pulls readers in and the editing gets them to stay and respect your work. Everything else can be done yourself or you can find the cheapest way to get it done.

As of now (11/8/21) I am starting a book 1 in a new story set in a world with people with powers (think x-men but its not genetic its scientific) and the best way to describe them is Zombies but they aren't driven by the need to eat flesh and brains they are mindless killing machines that inflict extreme violence and kill anything they come across. (Like world war z zombies and I am Legend zombies.)
