I don't exactly get writer's block. There always seems to be something to write. I often get lazy and my other demon is just thinking my writing stinks. I still write anyway. Sometimes I can't seem to overcome the laziness and end up watching movies all day, but other times I force myself to get up and sit at the computer and then I write.

The best thing about being a writer is the ability to create your own worlds. I like being able to step into a different reality for a while. It's like taking a little vacation to someplace I'd like to go. Even if it's scary, I can still get away and relax because I know I won't really get hurt.

Take classes, read, and write. I've written all my life but learning how to sharpen your skills is important. Also opening up your imagination and allowing yourself time to dream.

I'm a huge fan of Patrick McGoohan, the actor, and he plays a lot of cold war spy roles. It wasn't difficult to imagine him as a romantic lead in a story and then just let my imagination take flight.
