I wake up at 4am, before the distractions of social media, the news, and other people's agendas have the chance to encroach upon my day. If you are truly interested in writing as a career, never give up. Keep reading other writers' works. Look at how they put words on the page. Study their choice of verbs, their syntax, the way they invoke feeling inside of you. Use it to develop your own style, your own message. Really think about what you want to put out into the world. Remember, you will be a better writer tomorrow than you are today. And better still a year from now. But only if you keep at it.

I deal with writer's block by writing through it. I think blocks come from trying to avoid the hard parts of writing -- laying down plot, being emotionally vulnerable, etc. Meditation is a great way to relax and open your mind and taking a shower/bath also helps. There's something about being immersed in water that releases all kinds of creativity.
