I actually wrote a poem article about this topic on one of my writing sites when I was having writer's block. Here's a line from the poem:
" I open up my heart to hear the words inside my soul . . ."

1. Take a break or hiatus to breathe
2. Research a new and interesting topic
3. Do some free-style journaling
4. Explore new ideas by conversing with others
5. Revisit and revise some of your unfinished work
6. Be patient with yourself

I'm working on creating a book of poems addressing the racial experiences I shared in by first book, but this time in poetic form.

When I witnessed the death of George Floyd on video, it triggered memories of events that I experienced throughout my life. I started writing down these incidents of micro- and macro-aggressions, discovering how they impacted my self-esteem and identity as a Black woman. So, I decided to put these "recollections" in a book.
