I awoke with a rumble in my tummy that told me the curry of last night was making its way through me. I opened the bedroom door and realised that my son had emptied his entire lego box across the floor, blocking my way to the toilet. (Gross, but treading on lego is just the worst!)

Good question! When my grandmother passed away, the clock in her living room stopped. And then during her funeral, it started again! I think that would be a great mystery book, explaining that one!

I take a break. There is no need to sit at a computer trying to force it. Have a break, think about your book and where you want it to end, the plot comes to you in the end.

You are the boss of your characters. You can escape the real world and create something however you want to. It's quite liberating.

Just do it. Don't pay too much attention to the advice of others who will tell you how to write the book. Work in a way that feels good for you. There is no right answer when righting a book. Just write and see where you end up, you can always (and MUST) edit, edit and then edit again. If you can, get a professional to do your front cover and an editor to give it a once over if you're serious about becoming an author. This makes a big difference to your sales and your reputation.
