Graham Roy Swift I have always been interested in the Royal Air Force during the Second World War and the part it played. My late father flew as a Wireless Operator during that period, so I had first-hand knowledge how bomber crews worked when on operations. I'd had an idea for a spy novel set during that time in my head for a while, so it was a natural progression to link the two together. Having served in the RAF myself (not flying) I knew how the service worked, so that also helped a great deal. But even with some prior knowledge, a great deal of research was still needed to complete the novel.
Graham Roy Swift I am currently writing a fictional novel about a high-end hotel set in rural Dorset.
Graham Roy Swift Keep at it. Don't give in, write and write again. If you stop, start again. Always remember, critics are a dime a dozen. Anybody can be a critic. Writers are priceless.
Graham Roy Swift Walk away and leave my work for a while.
