I think it really depends on what kind of story you were looking for. I would say that I've tried to make my novels within IPs as approachable as possible for someone not versed in the lore, but even so books like 'Rise of the Celestians' and the Skaven Wars series rely on some prior knowledge of the setting. Perhaps the Brunner the Bounty Hunter omnibus would be a good starting point, or 'Age of the Undead', the first in my Zombicide trilogy. In a more horror vein, I'm quite proud of 'Castle of Blood'.

If we mean books I've read this year, I'd have to say 'Lord of a Shattered Land' by Howard Andrew Jones, 'Dinosaur Tales' by Ray Bradbury, and 'Conan the Barbarian' by Robert E. Howard. That last one was a collection put together to promote the Jason Momoa movie and has, what I consider, the greatest hits from Howard's Conan stories.

That would be entirely up to the Black Library, so they'd really be the people to ask. At the moment I've been doing some original work and some material for Kings of War and Aconyte.

I would probably have to go with Middle Earth. As for what I'd do there, likely get myself killed by an orc after ignoring someone's advice about not going outside after dark.
