Write it. Whatever shaky plotlines or random ideas you have- write it down. Once it's out of your brain and in the physical world, you can build on it and make it something great. You're on your own timeline, just edit and edit until it's a book you would sit down and read.

Being a writer isn't just putting words to a page. It's bringing entire realities into existence. These characters and plots that live within your mind are sporadic and scattered but when you manage to pluck them out of the chaos and paste them into books it is so satisfying. You get to write it out so others have the chance to enjoy the lives that your imagination has gifted you with.

I just switch between story ideas. If I have one storyline I'm working on but can't progress past a certain part then I'll just rotate it out, put it on the back burner and write on something else. Even if its just some junk idea, as long as its keeping my creative juices flowing, so to speak. It eventually corrodes the blockage and I'm able to resume the original draft I was working on. But if I am in an absolute zero writing mood I will step away completely for a few days and read, watch some tik toks or binge some tv to reset my brain.
