David Delisle This was definitely an instance, as Elizabeth Gilbert describes in Big Magic, where I believe the idea found me.

It started with reading “The Last Lecture" by Randy Pausch and realizing that there were things I wanted to write down for my young boys. So, I began compiling little pieces of wisdom that I had come across over my years. Most of these felt very common and obvious to me; smile to strangers, always say thank you, laugh often, stay curious....

But, as I continued to write down these little lessons, I realized that it was my views on money that were really unique. So, I shifted my focus towards this and began writing down everything I'd learned over 30+ years of investing. And what I realized...... was that most of it didn't matter. It was just a few simple habits and a shift in mindset that had the biggest impact.

And, that's how the book was born.

But, it was volunteering in the school library and watching child after child check out graphic novels where everything came together in the form of an exciting illustrated Quest. After that, the book almost wrote itself. Well, after over 4 years of editing and illustrations :)
