Daniel Jones Never give up. Writing is something that eats time and energy in vast quantities. It can be fun and self-propel, just as easily as it can weigh and drag. There is no timer to accomplishing your goals. So, keep pushing forward one page, one word, even one letter at a time.
The tools a writer has are far more than pen and paper, computer and keyboard. Remember that there is a network of us out here to support you at every step. You will always have what you need to reach, "The End." And we will be there to cheer for you when you get there. Victory is worth the fight. Never Quit.
Daniel Jones Your story to tell is a worthy story to tell. Don't get discouraged because others don't think so. Write it down and reach the end. Worry about making it polished afterward; but during the first draft you should tell your story FOR yourself. Be proud of your story, and I wish you the best in winning.
Daniel Jones I am one of those people who has a brain that just won't stop, can't stop creating ideas or coming up with thoughts that would make at least a half decent story. I simply make sure I get the best ones down on paper.
Daniel Jones I am a storyteller at heart. Being a writer lets me share those stories to a bigger audience, and that is what it's all about. Finding my audience and being there to give them stories to spur their imaginations and to give my piece to this wonderful world of art that we enjoy.
Daniel Jones Play campaign-based video games. For me being in an interactive story seems to just unclog my thinking paths and it lets me just get down something to keep pushing forward. I will admit that those moments usually end up being garbage and have to be heavily revised but the fact that they allow me to gain my momentum is enough to where it's not a problem.
Daniel Jones I am working on the follow up to Hydra's Wake. There is more coming so get excited!
Daniel Jones The idea of writing a story that uses a Hydra (the actual mythical creature, not the Marvel organization) for quite some time. The Hydra as a creature pops up in multiple mythologies, and as a creature base, it just seems woefully underutilized in Sci-Fi/Fantasy.
And for those who play Magic, I do play Selesnya Hydras.
