Moshe Mikanovsky I have an idea list. I always come with ideas when I am not sitting down to write, like when I am driving, or in the shower, or just before I fall asleep. If I write them down right away, with as many details as possible, I will later be able to pick up one of these ideas and develop it into a story. Not every idea resonates with me later, but even if one does at the time I need it, I solve the writer's block problem!
Moshe Mikanovsky I am working on a story that happens in Toronto, in the subway system. A bit of an adventure, and a bit of mystery. Just like I love reading.
Moshe Mikanovsky The Jewish daily prayer has a phrase "And You are trustworthy to resurrect the dead." This is a prayer to God to resurrects the dead in the days of the Messiah.
From that, I had a nugget of an idea. What if a person had that power, not in the future but right now, to bring up one person from the death, and help their family.
I didn't want it to be a zombie story, I preferred a parallel world type of story where the dead person can be seen and interacted with over there...
And that's how the story of The Resurrector started.
