Hello. I am an avid traveler looking for a $400 or less compact (pocket-sized) camera that takes great stand-and-shoot pictures and video and isn't overly complicated to set-up/use. Right now, I am considering the Panasonic Lumix ZS100 (and your book) and the Canon PowerShot G9X. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated? Thanks. TOM

Alexander S. White Hello, Tom -- I really like the Lumix ZS100; it has been one of my favorite cameras, with excellent features. Between those two models, I would choose it, partly because of its strong zoom capability. I have to say I have no experience with the G9X camera, so I have nothing bad to say about it, but just giving my own opinion I think the ZS100 would be an excellent choice.

Hi Alexander, I am on my second pass through your book on the Sony RX10! It is invaluable to me!!! I bought the camera for a photography workshop in Cuba. Hopefully you will be able to give me some advice since Sony and NO ONE seems to be able to provide a method of backing up the SD card without a laptap, the internet, and most likely not a phone! What do you suggest? Thank you, Andrea Nelin-Roth

Alexander S. White Hi, Andrea -- Thanks for your comment. I have not actually used a device like that, but I looked around a bit and found this one: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product.... It is a portable hard drive that has a built-in SD card slot; it sounds like it would work, if that is an option you could use. There are other devices from a company called Nexto, though those are more expensive.

Alexander S. White I just received my Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX100 camera, and I'm getting familiar with it as I start my guide book for that model.
