Adam Dustin Middle Earth. I'd walk from the Shire to the now (hopefully) abandoned Mordor, taking the road the Fellowship took. Would want to see all the sites!
Adam Dustin I'm currently reading "The Foundation Trilogy." I plan on conquering a slew of different books this year from Cormac McCarthy to Tolstoy to Pat Conroy. I plan on re-reading "The Lord of the Rings" later this year because it's been almost twenty years and that is far too long to not go on that journey.
Adam Dustin Writing is pure creation, and it is very organic. I am a male, so I can not give birth to a human, but I can feel an organic sense of creation through writing. When I'm reading through something I've written and all of a sudden the characters come to life and the story stirs my emotions, it's one of the best feelings in the world.
Adam Dustin I don't believe in writer's block. If you like the characters you are writing about, it should not exist. I approach writing like a mathematician approaches a proof: I ask myself why a character does something, does it make sense, is it in their character to do so, and how does it affect everyone else around them. One domino should knock down the next, and the next, and the next. To me, that is what stories are, a series of events that are driven by the previous ones. It's hard to engage readers with seemingly random events.
Adam Dustin I will use Stephen King's advice: To be a writer and have any chance of being good at it, you have to do two things: Read a lot and write a lot.
Adam Dustin I love words, reading, and writing. The inspiration comes from reading great stories and when I come up with an idea that excites me so much I want to spend a year or more with it, then I know I'm on my way.
Adam Dustin I started with a location I wanted to include in a small story and the characters manifested themselves from that location. I followed the characters until they began telling me a story.
