The Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton. It was one of my favourite books as a child and used to play it in the garden with my little brother.

I'm currently working on book three in the Northern Sins Saga. It's the first draft, and definitely the part I find takes the longest. After the initial draft, I'll work back through it, cutting or adding scenes, testing plot ideas, checking consistency. Then I'll do yet another draft and I'll look at language, sentence structure, typos spellings.
