Larry Gottlieb No. I'm not interested in horror stories, including the ones I see on the news.
Larry Gottlieb I don't know. That's not been an issue for me. But then, I'm not trying to make a living at this.
Larry Gottlieb Having a place to put all that stuff that's been rattling around in your head. There's nothing like putting it to "paper" to clarify your thoughts, beliefs, ideas, and so on.
Larry Gottlieb When you think about something that quickens your heart, that gets you excited, write that.
Larry Gottlieb The book I'm writing now is about a multi-day conversation among people who were thrown together after answering a questionnaire about what kind of adventure they wanted to have. The conversation is one I've been having with folks who have a similar worldview to mine. I've expressed that view in my book, Hoodwinked. This is then a fictional account of decades-long inner adventure into what's possible for human beings.
Larry Gottlieb I'm working on a story about some strangers who are thrown together with a quiet, modest, but very aware teacher, and who are then confronted with profound and important questions they didn't know they had.
Larry Gottlieb I honestly don't think it works like that. The question presumes there's something one can do to get inspired. For me, inspiration comes from asking questions and then opening oneself up to the answers. I believe the universe is always ready to answer our questions, but one has to be in a place of receptivity in order to hear those answers. And in order to do that, I have to relinquish what I already know about the subject so I can hear something new. That "something new" is what I consider inspiration.
