The Fat Ginger Nerd was the end result of a long period of self-reflection that originally began while I was finally losing weight in early 2016 after half a lifetime of trying. A lot of thoughts and emotions were bubbling to the surface at that time, and I needed an outlet to express them, even if I didn't always feel comfortable sharing them openly. So I began keeping a journal.
After a couple of years I realised that maybe I had the beginnings of what could potentially someday resemble a book, so I continued writing with that end goal in mind, and the rest, as they say, is history...
